From the author: Leftovers are the delicious bits at the end of the feast. Perhaps the meal was interrupted, or the diner became too full. Perhaps the meal went awry and was cut short by mishap. Whatever the reason, it's a shame to waste good remains. Leftovers is a collection of previously published short stories by Angela Yuriko Smith set to be available on Amazon in 2020.

Pain Relief was originally written as an assignment in the 2018 Borderland's Writers Boot Camp. We were each given the first line from a popular horror novel as a prompt. I was given "The Girl Next Door" by Jack Ketchum. He had just passed away and we were all pretty shook up about it. Receiving his line as a prompt was difficult and emotional to write and to listen to when our work was shared. I'm happy I wrote it anyway. Who decides what is good and what is evil? Unfortunately, sometimes we do. Originally published in 2015 as a stand alone ebook, The Heaven Grift has been popular on Amazon's "Christian Classics and Allegories," much to the surprise of the author. This is a re-edited version of the original. The couple that feature in this story are the beginning of the characters Killian Grey and Yoshiko who appear a few years later in "Bitter Suites." Fortunately, in that timeline they are still alive.
