Welcome, and thanks for subscribing. I'll be here at the start of every month, with a new post and some exclusive subscriber-only content: some of my older, hard-to-find stories from the early days of my career; a review or two; some ruminations on the writerly life... whatever will entertain you and keep my dancing monkey boy muscles fit and wiry.

To start, here's a story from my very early days: Brillig began life as a University screenplay, incorporating snippets from classic films, VO cards as if a silent film, and a combination of realistically filmed segments and sections that were to be staged as if a theatre production and then filmed 'live'. I can't, for the life of me, remember if it attained a passing grade-- I assume, judging from my overall scores, that I scraped through by the skin of my teeth. Many years later, I came across it in my trunk and realised it could be re-written as a 'straight' story, and it became one of my earliest sales.
