I’ve been thinking about odd jobs lately, specifically those of creative people. Douglas Adams, author of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, was a personal bodyguard. This makes total sense to me as a fan of his writing. I can just imagine the whacky hijinks this job would entail and also boring days. Jack London was an Oyster Pirate. Two things: I want a job where I get to call myself a Pirate. Also, the idea of poaching oysters is just begging to be a weird short story.
