Fantasy Horror Humor spiritual Light medium & dark supernatural Light fate worse than death religious
This story has a checkered past. It started life as a 7500 word science fiction story but, after a very helpful critique by Shawna McCarthy at Realms of Fantasy (when she rejected it), it ended up as a 11,500 some odd word fantasy novelette in Interzone and later anthologized in INFINITE SPACE, INFINITE GOD, from Twilight Times and in the "Dark" part of my WindyCon Guest of Honor collection, BIMBO ON THE COVER. It is broken into fourteen parts—each corresponding to a Station of the Cross.

Fantasy Horror Humor Magical Realism haunted house Baen
This is another tale that appeared in Jim Baen's Universe. Most of the story was from a vivid dream that stopped just a few paragraphs shy of the end. It was as if the Writing Muses had designed a test in which I must choose whether the story I was telling was humor or horror. Me, being me, I opted for both. It's about an estate agent and a "haunted" house.
