Based in the (very) far north of Scotland I write horror and speculative fiction at the top of the map. I enjoy reading a wide variety of work with a particular soft spot for William Gibson, Neil Gaiman and Pablo Neruda. I plan to be posting speculative or horror stories every fortnight, with occasional literary stories sprinkled in. My interests outside of writing are music, walking by the sea and river, dark comedy and pugs.

A pair of siblings go to a carnival and take a trip on the log flumes. This was a poor choice. This story will be appearing in the Battle Goddess Productions upcoming Demonic Anthologies Volume III - Demonic Carnival, which will be available in early September on Amazon!

A freelancer gets interrupted during a job and has to deal with some aggressive competition. This is a little crime short I did for a theme of "bad guys and bad situations" which was of course a lot of fun.

Horror speculative Gothic Murder death crow stabbing
A man sacrifices a woman to his god only for there to be a snag. Shame, that. This is another self indulgent Gothic story of mine, short and punchy and based in the same building as Black Building Session.

Humor Literary Fiction disabled lead character tw: d slur not used as a slur Alice is sick of this all Scottish writing
The aftermath of the meeting, and a chat on the beach. Warning for the use of language that could be considered a slur for lesbians - this is used in own voice terms but I'm aware this word is regarded differently in different areas. This is chapter ten of a larger work, which deals with a disabled young woman in a rural community and the people she comes to know once she leaves home. This will update fortnightly.

Mystery Romance swearing Glasgow crime lots of crime lots of swearing
A silly short story of one gangster and the woman he loves. I am not a frequent crime writer but I love getting into it when I have an idea that works, and this short came out of the ideas of relationships and permissible bad behaviour. It's very much a crime story but there's no option for that so we have mystery and romance because those are technically present.
