Grayson Bray Morris was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. Since 2002 she has lived in the Netherlands with her husband and three children. She earned a BS in mathematics in 1989, then went on to study the technical side of computer graphics before leaving academia to program assembly on parallel digital signal processors. These days she pays the bills as a professional translator.
